Joseph E. McHugh, M.D.

Joseph E. McHugh, M.D., is a native of Oklahoma City who also migrated northward to join the Wayzata Children's Clinic in 1983. He attended Rice University in Houston, Texas, before entering the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. Upon graduating in 1979, he began residency training at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver, completing an internship in Internal Medicine and then three years of Pediatric training. He is Board Certified in Pediatrics, is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, and completed requirements for voluntary re-certification in 1997. Dr. McHugh was previously on the Board of Directors at St. David's Child Development and Family Services, and is currently the physician champion for Pediatrics at Ridgeview Medical Center. His clinical interests include asthma, allergies, educational issues, sports medicine, and infectious diseases. Joe and his wife Linda have two daughters and live in Chaska. In their spare time they enjoy gardening, golf, music, Spanish language study, and home improvement projects. Joe is also regularly involved in the Chaska Rotary Club.
