![]() HEALTH CARE TEAMR. Collins Cavender, M.D.R. Collins Cavender, M.D., was born and raised in Vero Beach, Florida, and left the sunny south to attend college at Yale University. After graduating cum laude in 1970 with a degree in English, he enrolled in the University of Florida Medical School, vowing that he had seen enough snow to last a lifetime. Upon graduation in 1974, for reasons that will forever remain obscure, he chose to do his pediatric residency training at the University of Minnesota, which he completed in 1977. Since then he has practiced at the Wayzata Children's Clinic, calling the tropical paradise of Minnesota home. In 1986 he served as Chairman of Professional Staff of Minneapolis Children's Medical Center (now Children's Hospitals and Clinics Minneapolis). He has also served on the Board of Directors of Minneapolis Children's and Children's West. Dr. Cavender is Board Certified in Pediatrics, and completed requirements for voluntary re-certification in 1997. Collins and his wife Barbara live in Orono and have two grown sons and two grandchildren. Spare time activities include golf, travel, skiing, and biking. Collins sees patients primarily in Spring Park. |
