Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants, or Advance Practice Providers (APPs) play a vital role as healthcare providers at Wayzata Children’s Clinic. They are highly educated – holding either a master’s or doctoral degree. They are well-trained, board certified and licensed providers who place the patient at the center of their care. Just like our board-certified Pediatricians, they evaluate, treat and diagnose, specializing in pediatric development and healthcare. All of the professionals communicate regularly with each other – asking each other questions and collaborating on what is best for each individual patient. All of our Providers, APPs and Pediatricians, provide excellent, quality care. While we ask patients/families to develop a relationship with one of our Providers as their Primary Care Provider (PCP), it is highly encouraged that they also get to know one or two other Providers, including both Pediatricians and APPs, for the times their PCP is away from the office. This provides the family with a “deep bench” of a care team who knows the child and the family. Wayzata Children’s Clinic seeks out and recruits only the best Providers. Each APP and Pediatrician is a trusted and competent Clinical Provider and a valued member of the team.
