Elizabeth Hopfenspirger, DNP, APRN, CNP, FNP, PMHNP-BC
Dr. Elizabeth Hopfenspirger received her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree for Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from the University of Minnesota in 2014. Prior to completing her doctorate, she worked for 8 years in several nursing and advanced nursing practice settings including cardiology, family practice, psychiatry and corrections. She provides psychiatric care for a variety of patients across the lifespan. Dr. Hopfenspirger is an innovative, open-minded patient advocate who places great importance on developing a therapeutic relationship with patients and families. With her broad range of skills and knowledge in several areas of advanced nursing practice, she provides individualized, patient-centered care and works alongside each patient to develop shared treatment goals. She aims to help others realize their potential in order to live their best lives. Dr. Hopfenspirger is an Affiliate Faculty member at the University of Minnesota School of Nursing. She speaks on perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, and has served on advisory boards and task forces for Minnesota state-based health agencies. In addition to spending time with her husband and three young children, she enjoys running, being outdoors, attending concerts and playing ukulele.
